Prior to beginning the Oregon Passenger Rail project, ODOT held eleven open house meetings regarding Oregon’s draft goals for high-speed rail between Eugene and Portland.
Over 600 people attended these meetings, providing ODOT with valuable feedback. ODOT received over 2,000 completed surveys on the draft goals.
In addition to the Open Houses, ODOT conducted a series of interviews with key stakeholders and representatives throughout the project area. ODOT interviewed 119 people to understand stakeholders’ perspectives on the project, to gain input into development of the decision‐making structure, and to identify potential members for the project stakeholder committee.
